Walkway replacement, drainage upgrades and resurfacing works
Keep Hatch Primary School, Wokingham
We were contacted by our client to undertake major improvement works at the school. The existing drainage infrastructure was not adequate for the amount of rain water accumulating within the playground. The existing timber walk way was no longer in use as it posed a serious health and safety risk. The schools playground also required full resurfacing due to multiple undulations, cracks and uneven surfaces.
Upon commencement of the works, we undertook a full drainage survey to ascertain whether the existing drainage could be utilised in conjunction with the proposed new drainage installation. The team carried out the removal of the existing walk way and installed a new retaining wall in various locations and installed a new tarmac footpath in place of the old walkway, complete with new handrails.
The new drainage system was connected to the existing drainage at the school and significantly alleviated the water accumulation issues the school were facing. The resurfacing of the playground was installed to the correct falls to direct all surface water in to the newly installed drainage system.
Upon completion of the works, our team carried out new playground markings to the schools design.
