Playground Subsidence and Reinstatement Works
All Saints Benhilton Primary School, Sutton
The existing playground was in poor condition and causing health and safety issues becoming unusable in areas due to significant subsidence imposed on the playground.
We were employed to undertake trial holes and exploratory works to examine the existing substrata formations, and to carry out extensive culvert and surrounding fill excavations and disposal and replacement with substantially improved imported fill which was methodically installed with use of ground stabilisation and reinforcement measures to mitigate the effects of subsidence on the playground in the future.
Our team installed new surface water drainage measures to mitigate surface water ponding and drainage jetting and resin lining repairs were undertaken to existing defective below ground drainage infrastructure.
The playground was then resurfaced and playground markings installed to a school approved design.
We also resurfaced two of the existing staff car parks and reprofiled the existing playing field leading into the newly upgraded playground to provide vehicular access for the school.
